If I was in charge I would chose to eliminate coal from being able  to produce electricity, I would do this because coal makes smoke and other things that are bad for the environment. I personally think that getting electricity from solar is the best option, So I think that getting electricity from coal is not our best option.
On the other hand I think that generating electricity from solar panels and the sun is better. This is because Solar energy is one of the cleanest source of energy and even maybe the cleanest. Also it can be done when ever. Even when the sun is not out boiling water is a form of solar electricity.  So this is why I think that solar energy is the best for us and the environment.

We used models to show how circuits with light switch. This helped me understand how they work. This is because now I know that when you turn the light on the switch pulls a piece of wire in to connect the circuit so it is a closed circuit so that the energy can flow properly to lights. But when you turn the light off the switch pushes the piece of wire that it pulled in back out and away from the circuit so the energy can't flow through to the lights.

Electricity

http://www.siyavula.com/gr7-9-websites/natural-sciences/gr8/images/gr8ec02-gd-0016.png
Electricity starts with electrons. The flow of electricity starts when electrons jump from atom to atom. Electricity is contained by closed paths. But to get the electrons to flow they use composers which are objects that electricity flows through most commonly metals like copper. Then if you surround that by an insulator which are objects the electricity can't flow through most commonly rubber or plastic then that creates a closed path in which the electrons flow through to get to our devices. This contraption is more commonly known as a wire.

But that is not all. Have you ever wondered how a light bulb lights up. Well here is what happens first the electrons start at the battery. Then they come out of the positive side of the battery. Then they travel through wires to the light bulb then there's a very small wire that only allows one electron at a time this wire is called a filament. Then the electrons have to squeeze through this wire. Then you know when you work hard you start to get hot well electrons are like that to. So when they try to travel through this area then they start to give of heat and light and then they start to almost like transform into heat and light then sense the filament gets light and the filament is in the light bulb it lights it up.  Then when that process is done what is left of it comes back to the negative side of the battery and gets "refreshed". This process is called a circuit.

In class we drew a model of a circuit like the one shown above. This helps me understand how they work and what they look like the the whole picture makes sense o me and i can create connections and ideas from what I learned. I think that drawing models can help my education because for me they make things easier to understand.

Jadeite

http://www.galleries.com/minerals/silicate/jadeite/jadeite.jpg
Jadeite is a mineral. Jadeite is green, greenish gray, pale blue and purple, white, and rarely yellow and pink. Jadeite is vitreous it splinters to having uneven chunks when you hit it or drop it. It has a Monoclinic crystal structure. It's hardness is 6.5. It's streak is white. It's Chemical Composition is Sodium, Aluminum, silicate, and sometimes some calcium and iron. Jadeite has a  Conductivity is 14 GPA and 1000K.

Jadeite is a mineral that when mixed with a certain other mineral it makes the Gemstone Jade. Jadeite is used for eons in China and central America as an ornamental and religious stone of deep significance. Jadeite is also found in Gulbashen, which is in the Karakash Valley of People's republic of China. It has also been long known that the Mesoamerica cultures  produced jadeite objects, but for centuries the geological resources have been unknown. But in the later 20th century an in place jadeite deposit was found near the Matuga Valley in Guatemala.

I identified questions to be investigated when I asked myself what my mineral physical properties, where is it found, what is it used for who found it and all sorts of things. I found these things when I looked at mineral galleries found and picked out my mineral and looked at the physical properties and other things that I needed to find out.

minerals, rocks & how you find out what they are

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/f7/37/80/f73780904937d19762cfd55fc75057b0.jpg

A mineral is something that consists of Rocks, Jewels, and Gems. A mineral can only be a mineral if when you found it it was a solid. There are three different types of rocks Sedimentary, Igneous, and Metamorphic. Igneous rock forms when lava cools and hardens. Then when it gets exposed to weather weathering and erosion take charge and when they work together the break down the rocks then move the rock away from each other.

Then in a few years of this process happening these pieces of rock turn to sediment. Then this sediment mixed with pebbles, shells, sand, and dirt becomes sedimentary rocks. The fact that these are made up of lots of different stuff makes them the rocks that you will most likely find fossils in it. Metamorphic rock is when sedimentary rocks start melting into magma but then never melt all the way.

To identify a rock or mineral there are quiet a few tests to use like color, cleavage, hardness, luster, crystal structure, density, and streak. Color defines a mineral or rocks color. Cleavage determines if the mineral or rock crumbles to little shards ( no clean cut) or into big pieces ( clean Cut). Hardness determines how hard the mineral is. Luster determines if the rock looks metallic, not metallic, dull, peril, Etc. Crystal Structure is the structure of the minerals or crystals. Density is how dens is it. Streak is what color streak does it have.

I collected data on what mineral was which when I preformed test and then put my data in a machine and identified my minerals. I did this so that I could understand the test what they were and how they would help me with figuring out my mineral, I also did this to identify the minerals that I had found on the interactive.
